Carlos Echeverri
Professional Chef
Born in Cali 40 years ago, he graduated from SENA as a professional culinary technician and has over 15 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.
He has worked as a chef at Bourbon St, Seven Times, El Pasquín, and is currently at Wala Beach. He has also led teams in renowned establishments such as Fénix Beach, Santuario Beach, Socialité Gastro Bar, El Burgués, and Eivissa, developing expertise in organization, event planning, logistics, and management.
Beyond the kitchen, he has contributed to social projects in Cartagena, collaborating with Fundación Acción Interna and Tierra Bomba Island, supporting the community through social activities and culinary training. He was also a featured speaker at the Sabores Cartagena Festival and has completed sustainable gastronomy diplomas with Acodres, actively participating in forums related to hospitality, tourism, food, and beverages.
As a chef, he specializes in fusion cuisine, highlighting local flavors
while respecting the unique identity of each establishment he works with. Currently, his goal at Wala is to create a standout culinary experience, offering a flexible menu tailored to the different atmospheres within the beach club. His vision is to establish Wala Beach as a local culinary reference in the short term and a national benchmark in the long run, collaborating with guest chefs, food influencers, brands, and industry leaders.
